The intact tear-tab offers resistance to tampering. The rubber gasket creates a leak-tight seal to keep paint and various other materials fresh, inside the container where they belong. To remove lid for the first time after application, locate tear-tab and pull around entire lid until completly detached. Lid application may require tapping around the edges with a mallet to ensure proper seal.
